Celebratory and Memorial Gifts Honorary donations are always a wonderful idea, whether monetary or in some other form. Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and other occasions can be celebrated by your special gift. You can perpetuate a loved one's memory with a remembrance gift in their name. Habitat will gladly send a beautiful card with your message to honor the event. Let us know how you would like us to proceed when you make your donation.

Stock / Property Donations of appreciated items provide funding Habitat needs while normally providing two special tax advantages for you. By donating appreciated stock or property, you avoid paying the 20% capital gains tax on the appreciated item (and Habitat sells it tax-free). Donating an appreciated item also enables you to claim the current fully appreciated pre-tax market value as a tax-deductible charitable contribution. So simply put, donating $500 in appreciated items will cause your tax bill to be smaller than donating $500 in cash.

Bequests / Planned Giving Including Habitat for Humanity-Delaware County in your will and estate planning is a wonderful way to continue helping Habitat build homes in partnership with God's people in need. Advanced planning will enable the gift to be exempt from estate taxes.
