Habitat for Humanity cannot accomplish its goals without volunteers. We draw volunteers from
all walks of life to perform tasks ranging from contruction to fundraising, from accounting to office work. The Delaware County affiliate currently has open volunteer positions on a number of our committees, as well as an ongoing need for individuals and groups to volunteer on our construction sites. See the appropriate page of this web site to learn more about how you (or your group) can get involved with Habitat for Humanity in Delaware County. |

Our current consruction sites are both on the 800 block of McDowell Avenue in Chester. Haven House (820/822 McDowell) Haven House is sponsored by a group of eight congregations in the Swarthmore area. 820/822 McDowell are existing two bedroom row homes that are being renovated and converted into a single four bedroom home. Construction began in Winter 2002 with the complete interior demolition of the interior of 822, and now has a an estimated completion date of Fall 2004. EAPA House (836/838 McDowell) Our next project, to be located on the vacant lots at 836/838 McDowell Avenue, is sponsored by the Episcopal Academy Parents' Association. This will be our first new construction project in Chester, and we expect to break ground late Summer 2004. |
